🚨BREAKING: The Carolina Panthers may be looking to move on from former first-round pick Xavier Legette following the selection of Chris Brazzell in the 2026 NFL Draft.

There is often a domino effect from the NFL Draft and that might be the case for the Carolina Panthers and wide receiver Xavier Legette.

With the Panthers drafting Chris Brazell in the 2026 NFL Draft, The Athletic’s Joseph Person believes there’s a world where Legette gets traded.

Panthers rookie sensation Xavier Legette says he ate a raccoon for Thanksgiving

“Legette’s status hasn’t changed that much with the addition of Brazzell. If he can clean up some of the things that have slowed his development, he’ll be in the WR rotation. If not, he won’t — and becomes a potential trade candidate,” Person said.

A former first-round pick of the Panthers in 2024, Legette has not come close to living up to expectations over his first two seasons in the NFL.

Legette has struggled with drops and has been the definition of inconsistent and unreliable.

After posting 497 receiving yards in 2024, Legette took a step back in production last season with 363 yards.

If the South Carolina product does hit the trade block, three teams that could have some interest are the Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.

Legette isn’t the No. 1 receiver the Raiders need, but he would offer more depth for a room that has a bunch of unproven players like Jalen Nailor, Tre Tucker, Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton.

In Kansas City, the Chiefs need more depth behind Rashee Rice. Xavier Worthy had a disappointing second season and Marquise Brown is gone.

Legette’s best chance at reviving his career would be in an Andy Reid offense where his explosive speed could really shine.

The Dolphins added two receivers in the draft in Chris Bell and Caleb Douglas, but that receivers group is still lacking. Adding Legette would give Miami another body and Legette would have an opportunity for plenty of targets.
